The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for Fall Protection in October 1999 with ASSE designated as the TAG Administrator.
This U.S. TAG consists of over 20 entities with interest in fall protection, including government agencies, users of fall arrest systems, professional societies representing safety professionals, fall arrest equipment manufacturers and employers of those who use the equipment. It develops recommendations for the U.S. position on international fall protection standards developed by ISO Technical Committee 94 Subcommittee 4. ANSI casts the official vote on such standards, which is the U.S. voting representative to ISO.
